Our Wedding Day — full write up (part 2)
4:30pm - 6:00pm
I actually don’t know exactly what time our ceremony finally started, except that it was at least 40 minutes past our original scheduled time.
Yay! It was the moment I waited for for so long!
The rose arbor looked fantastic! Don’t you think? The wisteria flowers were in peak bloom, the roses that weren’t there yet two weeks prior to our wedding bloomed lovely too, and most importantly, I think my design for the aisle totally rocked! Periwinkle and silver sash along the seats, sweetpea flowers and white roses in glass bowls hang on shepherd hooks along the aisle, plus, yes, I am sure you’ve noticed the pattern down the aisle. I came up with that pattern in the middle of a meeting, then I handed the doodle to my florist to have her arrange it in white rose petals down the asile!
Finally seeing the asile felt like unveailing an art project that I’ve been working on mentally over and over for the past 10 months. I am a big flower person, and a aesthetics control freak. Therefore, when it comes to MY wedding, all the flowers just had to be done right, to the perfection! That asile, which I’ll only walk down once in my lifetime, just had to look like a path to happy-ever-after fairy land!
Hehe, I am proud to say it was all just the dreamy way I envisoned. Yay~
I love the set up!
We couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque garden setting. 
We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding party either. On my side, the girls (whom I introduced in my previous post) were all important to me in different areas of my life. On John’s side, the gentlemen were Rex (his brother, best man), Ray (his cousin in law), Thomas (his cousin), and Randy (my brother).
We also had three pairs of flower girls and ring bearer. The girls were Brittany (age 10), Tiffany (age 6), and Cheri (20 months old!). The cute little guys were Dylon (age 8), Tristan (age 5), and Ethan (age 4).
By the time they lined up outside, our string quartet had already been playing for about half an hour. We were very fortunate to have a high quality string quartet lead by John’s cousin, who’s studying music in college. I had picked the music for them to play, but honestly, I only heard a little bit of it myself. But anyhow, for parents’ and the wedding party’s walk down the aisle, I picked “Over the Rainbow” to be fresh and cute. For my grand entrance as the bride, I stick with the traditional, yet not granny sounding “Cannon in D”.
John’s parents walked down the aisle. If they look like the nicest people ever, it’s because they are!
My young and bright younger brother, Randy, walked my mom down the aisle.
The kids stole the show! This is Brittany and Dylon. Hm… who was it that didn’t want to hold hands?
This is Tristan and Tiffany, a sister and brother pair. They are also Dylon’s (oldest ring bearer, pictured above) siblings, and Ray’s (groomsman) kids. Yes, we were blessed by lots of family love.
Aw… they are just too cute! This is 4-year old Ethan and 20 months old Cheri!!! They are also brother and sister.
What made this pair even so much more unfortettable and cute was that … Cheri only walked down the aisle a few steps before stopping and turning away to look for her mom. Her brother urged her to go on, but she let go of his hand and ran for the mom instead. At the end, her mom (my voice teacher) carried her down the aisle.
Aw … that’s simply too precious!!! Of course I didn’t see this, because I wasn’t there yet, but I can’t wait to see it on video!
Maid of honor and Best man entered. I love their smiles!
Now everyone’s in place and ready.
Here comes the bride!
I will always remember the look on John’s handsome face as he sees me walking down the aisle. Love, happiness, anticipation, longing, plus so much more words can’t describe. That moment meant eveything to me, and more. For lack of better words, it was a fairy tale come true.
The moment when my dad handed me off to John was just as special too.
We had a Christian ceremony. Here’s us during the ceremony, listening to words of wisdom from the pastor. Ah, The princess in me loved the long veil!
From a guest’s perspective. We were glad that the sky behind the arbor had cleared up.
To love and to cherish, till death do us part.
Thanking our parents. I totally thought I was going to cry during this part of the ceremony. In all the weddings I’ve been to since reaching adulthood, I always cry when the couple thanks their parents. I couldn’t imagine how emotional I would be when the day comes for me to honor my parents at my own wedding. But I did good! I was smilling the whole time!
I think I got all the crying out of the way during rehearsal. I totally unleashed my tears of joy during our rehearsal. It was the first time I heard John said the vows, so I couldn’t help it!

Yay! We’re married!!!!
MARRIED!!!
We spent about an hour at rose arbor with guests for greetings and pictures after the ceremony. In between the ceremony and the reception, we had a cocktail hour/social time planned for the guests. Golf carts came to shuffle them over to a beautiful garden setting patio area right outside the banquet room where we would later hold the banquet. They were served champagne, and d’oeuvres.
While the guests enjoyed themselves at the cocktail hour, John and I went around the winery with our wedding photographer for romantic pictures. Even though it was … cold and windy, I the pictures turned out nice. I also used the break to change my hairstyle for the banquet. Later on, we heard many great compliments about how well the cocktail hour was arranged. Our guests really had a great time! Yay!
If there was one inperfection with the ceremony, it was the weather…. It was quite cold, and windy! I held up fine, having been a beauty queen once, I am quite used to wearing formal gowns in the wrong weather. The guests had heat lamps to keep them warm so they were fine as well. But it was tougher on the bridesmaids. Fortunately, my bridesmaids were all great friends who thought of the chill as “making it all more memorable”.
It was a very happy wedding ceremony.

Did they do anything to keep the rose petals in the aisle from blowing away? Were they real rose petals? Were they put down at the last minute? I would like to do something similiar but a lot of logistical issues are seeming to crop up.

Hi Heather,
No, the florist didn’t do anything special. They were real rose petals arranged on grass the last minute. It was windy on my wedding day, but the petals stayed in place.

OMG, if you wanna go where drama belongs. Check this. When Tila Tequila entered middle school, she developed a “tomboy” attitude and got into a lot of fights. She eventually was sent to a boarding school for 6 months before transferring schools again. In high school, Tila started using her sister’s identification cards to get into nightclubs and bars where she began drug abuse and joined a gang. I kind of feel bad for the girl, but she does love the attention, let me tell you. It is no surprise that she is stuck in a sex tape controversey.

Site owner, I may be right in saying your web server stopped functioning yesterday because I came across this page through Bing and all I saw was a connection timeout page. I would email your hosting provider to make sure that it doesnt do it again as your losing visitors. I was using Firefox browser if that helps.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
