I am back!

I thought this break away from blogging was going to be much, much longer, but in the end I still couldn’t help the urge to write when there’s so much going on in life.

Life has been good. Work has been fun. I am now a “former” beauty queen since my “reign” ended in August, so no more weekends full of back-to-back appearances, no more standing in high heels for long hours, and no more taking way too many pictures with way too many people whose name I can’t remember. That allows me to enjoy life more, to watch DVDs, to play with my dog, to get my room re-organized, and most significantly, to start painting again.

Since mid-August I’ve been taking a nighttime painting class at a nearby community college to get painting skill back. I used to paint all the time when I was an art student in college, but since I choose a different path for graduate school, and then a job in a different field, I haven’t paint for more than five years. After not having painted for so long, I figure I need something structured to help myself get started again, so I enrolled in a “beginning painting” class although my painting skill is far beyond a beginner. The classes exercises are very basic, and too easy, but it’s still quite enjoyable to get re-familiarized with basic principles and techniques. I think ultimately, this experience of learning painting from the basics again will help me develop into a more matured artist in the future.

As time goes on I’ll for sure show my paintings here.

What else have I been doing? Oh yes, I’ve taken a few weekend trips to beautiful places… a weekend in San Francisco and San Jose, another weekend in Santa Barbra, a camping/wine tasting road trip along California Coast over the Veterans Day weekend, and a weekend trip to Las Vegas to visit new boyfriend at his place.

Yes, there’s a new boyfriend. His name is John. I hate to sound as if my life evolves so much around guys, but the guys in my life have changed me a lot. Simply put, 2007 has been a very turbulent year for me, emotionally. But I am happy now. Things are going well.

Another big news is that I turned 30 last month. With that comes a new found confidence, freedom, and outlook on life, which I hope to share on this blog through my words and images.

So, do come visit me! And do leave me messages. Thanks!
